Dr Jane Montgomery
Associate Postgraduate Dean (Paediatrics, Flexible Training & Careers) - South East Deanery
Dr Jane Montgomery qualified from Glasgow University in 1979 and trained there in anaesthesia to fellowship level, completing her training via North Carolina, London and Rotterdam. Her first consultant appointment was in the Royal Army Medical Corps and having worked in BMH Hanover and the Falkland Islands she completed her Short Service Commission and took up a consultant post at The Borders General Hospital, Melrose.
An interest in postgraduate education started when appointed as college tutor for the College of Anaesthesia and appointment as Postgraduate Tutor and Associate Dean followed. She is responsible for coordinating flexible training and provision of careers advice in the deanery and works alongside her peers in Scotland and across the UK to take these issues forward.
